"HONEY WITH MY TEA"
Add a subheading
Honey with my Tea, the trio’s new full-length CD, expands on motifs of empathy and life experience. The 12 tracks are divided into equal thirds, with each singer-songwriter contributing three original songs and interpreting one selection written by outside writers. Themes of love and relationships – good, bad, complicated or otherwise —are at the foundation of the songcraft.
The CD highlights each of the artists’ distinctive approaches to songwriting. Linda’s “Black and Blue” is a wry examination of the real rigors of a complex relationship while “It’s So Easy Being Green” confirms that everyone can make a difference to the earth. “Honey with My Tea,” the title track, embodies a subtle but sly sensuality. Trish hoists a glass on the sudsy and sexy “A Toast to the Men of Ireland,” celebrates a diverse country of immigrants on “The Promise of America” and pledges her heart with the gorgeous “True North.” Joan’s poignant “That’s What Love Is,” contrasts with her inquisitive cantankerousness of “My Turn” and the upbeat honky-tonk celebration of “Boots and Pearls."
